On September 8, AVL will start the rehabilitation work on Runway 17-35, taxiway Bravo and connectors B1, B2 and B3, that will include rubber removal, joint and crack repairs, application of the seal coat and repainting of these surfaces. This project is scheduled to be completed by October 3rd, weather dependent.
The project will require nightly hard closures of the runway from midnight to 05:30 am (local). Taxiway Bravo work will be completed from 17:00 hrs (local) until midnight, when work will shift to the runway.
The contractor will work in concurrent sections as shown below.
• TWY Bravo between B1 and south of B5, Runway quadrant Q1 and Q2
• TWY Bravo between North turnaround and B5, Runway quadrant Q3 and Q4
NOTAMs for closure of the runway and affected taxiways are being issued and updated as needed. NOTAMs will also be issued for non-standard markings for the areas, if necessary.
