Asheville Regional Airport (KAVL) will experience planned power outages after the control tower closes each night from 0400–1130Z, beginning Monday, December 9th, through Friday morning, December 12th.

A portable engine generator will be used to support National Weather Service equipment inside the tower to avoid service interruptions. No impacts are expected to AVL ATCT operational hours or capabilities.

During these outage windows, ASOS weather broadcasts may be unavailable.
Pilots should:

• Review NOTAMs for additional or updated outage information.

• Obtain pre-flight weather briefings by phone if the ASOS frequency is not transmitting.
