Office of Runway Safety - Western Pacific Region. Analyze airport, heliport, and aviation facility safety standards for compliance with FAA minimum design safety standards. Draft, promulgate, and implement Runway Safety Action Plans coordinated through lines of business and with facility sponsors. Review, comment, and analyze complex airspace, airport layout designs, and plans with respect to aircraft / user operational needs and requirements. Provide and / or obtain expert advice on lighting, signing, and marking of airports and heliports coordinating with multiple agency and public organizations to minimize system risks and achieve plan consensus. Represent the Division before the public, the media and other governmental agencies. Expert witness for DOT in State Airport Issues. Stimulate community interest and participation in local aeronautical programs. Guest lecturer FAAST Team and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on helicopter safety and airport mechanics. Prepare and approve Airport Layout Plans for State DOT. As a lead worker to other Aviation Consultants in the Aeronautics Division I provide training on the FAA Airport Safety Data Program that includes performing annual updates of FAA 5010 Master Records, acted as Division Chief Pilot, Flight Instructor, and Webmaster.
