Safety Notice for Pilots Using North Las Vegas (VGT) Airport
 
All Pilots:
Runway incidents and incursions create a hazard at VGT. Pilots are reminded:
BE ALERT TO RUNWAY CROSSING CLEARANCES
READBACK OF ALL RUNWAY HOLDING INSTRUCTIONS IS REQUIRED.
 
Departing IFR Traffic:
When issued the North Town One (NOTWN1.LAS) Departure, pilots are admonished to adhere to the procedure precisely. 
 
The following incorrect procedures have created safety hazards for all aircraft in and around both North Las Vegas and McCarran Airports.
 
1. Aircraft depart, turn to heading 250 and fail to intercept the LAS 310 radial. This can be extremely dangerous during IMC or night due to higher terrain to the west.
2. Aircraft depart & turn direct LAS VOR. This puts aircraft in harms way of LAS arrival or departure traffic depending on runways in use.
3. Aircraft depart; turn to heading 250 and intercept LAS 310 radial INBOUND to LAS. This causes same issues as #2.
4. Aircraft depart, turn to heading 250 and intercept LAS 310 radial outbound correctly, but fail to turn in bound at 15DME (RUZCO). This can cause problems with terrain or LSV traffic. 5. RY 12L/R, aircraft depart and do not execute the turn to 250 in a timely manner. Due to the close proximity of VGT & LAS, these airc
