Subject: Annual Runway Safety Meeting
DWH Airport Users,
Over the past several years, we have significantly reduced the number of vehicle/pedestrian deviations, pilot deviations, operational incidents, and runway incursions. This improvement to safety directly correlates to the dedication and commitment from all DWH users. The increased vigilance, air traffic procedural adaptations, and heightened awareness from the pilot community, has proven to be the key recipe for success.
Even with our vast improvements, runway incursions remain a serious concern nationally, and we have seen a slight increase recently at DWH with the increased traffic volume. One important component of our ongoing efforts to improve surface safety at DWH Airport involves conducting a Runway Safety Action Team (RSAT) meeting at least once each year. In conjunction with airport management and the DWH HOA, we will be conducting a local RSAT meeting on Thursday June 6, 2019. The meeting is scheduled from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Tomball Jet Center, 9310 Max Conrad Dr, Spring TX 77379.
The purpose of this RSAT meeting is to unite those individuals and organizations that are actively involved in air traffic operations and movement of aircraft, vehicles and equipment on the Airport Operations Area. We look for participation from all major airport interests including tenants, fixed base operators, airport operations and maintenance personnel. Participants assist with developing recommendations and solutions to enhance surface safety. Those recommendations serve as the foundation for a site-specific Runway Safety Action Plan.
