Pilots seeking a deep dive into the legend on aeronautical charts need look no further than the new
FAA Aeronautical Chart User's Guide. The 131-page publication has been updated to include new aeronautical chart symbols that have crept onto maps since the last guide was published in 2011.
One of the new symbols is RP* on a sectional chart adjacent to an airport symbol.
In the legend it states : RP* special conditions exist - see Supplement formerly known as Airport/Facility Directory.
Don't fly Right Pattern at an airport with a RP* on the chart unless during your preflight you have consulted the Chart Supplement - FAR 91.103 - - - all availabe information - - -
