The FAA has recently issued a new Standard Terminal Arrival Procedure (STAR) called the LUCIT One Arrival.  This arrival will serve the following Northwestern Indiana Airports: Gary/Chicago International, Merrillville, and Sky Ranch.  This new STAR will make IFR arrivals into these airports from the west and southwest more efficient.  VFR traffic must be aware that there may be high speed jet traffic flying just east of the Griffith Airport while on vectors for the Gary Airport.  Maintain vigilance for fast moving traffic from the south when climbing or descending east of the Griffith Airport.  Jet traffic being vectored for the arrival into the Gary Airport should be at or above 2,000 feet MSL east of the Griffith Airport.
