High Intensity Flight Training Ops by the USAF Along the Colorado Front Range From Castle Rock to Walsenburg
This notice expired on
Sunday, April 29, 2012

It's that time of year again!  Calling all pilots from Colorado and surrounding states who are interested in aviation along the Colorado Front Range south of the Denver Class B Airspace.  You need to know...

The 306 Flying Training Group (FTG) is responsible for the flight training of almost 2000’ students a year in the Air Force Academy’s Powered Flight Program (PFP) as well as the Air Force’s Introductory Flight Screening (IFS) Program contracted to DOSS Aviation out of Pueblo Airport. All of this training is conducted in low observable Diamond and Cessna aircraft at altitudes consistent with General Aviation flight operations and training. Please see the attached pdf file for a depiction of the training area boxes used by the 306 FTG along the Colorado Front Range (along with points of contacts for these training area locations).

Note: The Alert Areas A-639A and A-639B northeast and east of Colorado Springs were designed for USAF Academy Aerobatic Operations years ago and only partially define the boundaries vertically and geographically of the current 306 FTG training mission.
