Dear IA

As a reminder, 2021 is an IA card (FAA Form 8310-5) signing year, each inspection authorization expires on March 31 of each odd-numbered year 14 CFR 65.92(a), there will be no extensions or relief on the requirement for an IA to make application during the month of March.

Renewal Options:

1. Process your application through Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA):  IACRA is a web-based certification/rating application that guides the user through the FAA’s airman application process.  IACRA can be accessed here: https://iacra.faa.gov/iacra/

2. Due to COVID, the Alaskan FAA offices can also accept electronic submissions of FAA Form 8610-1for your IA renewal processing
   1. You can download the 8610-1 and complete the fillable PDF
      1. Block 13 Certification: can either be signed by hand and rescanned or digitally signed and sent to the FAA office
         1.  The emailed application and attachments (evidence for renewal) may be scanned, photo images, or PDF with a digitized signature.
      2. Return the signature portion of the Pilot Bill of Rights - see attached
      3. A digitally signed FAA Form 8310-5 IA card or FAA letter will be returned to you.

   2. Include your FAA Form 8310-5 IA card (Optional)
   3. A signed copy of the Pilot Bill of Rights
   4.  A self-addressed stamped envelope
