Ron Levy, a designated Aviation Safety Counselor and FAASafetyTeam Representative since 1993, is an instructor for a national instrument flight training provider, a former instructor for an international flight training center, and the former director of a university aviation program. He's also the Safety Director Emeritus of the GOPA (the Grumman owners group) and the past chair of the University Aviation Association's Flight Education Committee as well as a past member of the UAA Safety Committee. A 14000-hour ATP/CFI, Ron's 57 years of flying experience includes over 6000 hours as a flight instructor, over 1000 hours of Part 135 charter flying, and 2000 hours in military tactical jets (A-6, RF-4, and F-111). He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in aviation management. His writing credits include nearly 100 safety-related articles in several aviation magazines, as well as more than seventy technical publications during his twelve years as a lead aircraft survivability engineer. |
