I generally see my role as a pilot as that of a 'risk manager.' I tell my students that very thing. I have 15+ years experience of business and financial risk management experience; in addition to 30 years of practicing aviation risk management, in various degrees, (I am still accident/incident free...so far; that said, I hope I'm doing something right). I have 20+ years experience as a Military Helicopter pilot and a General Aviation enthusiast since the mid-80's, with a descent amount of Tail-wheel experience in several a/c types and missions (J3 Cub, Citabrias, bi-planes). As a military pilot, I spent much time in running flight Operations (tactical, administrative). I also have experience running Safety and Standardization programs for military Squadron & Group level training that included both Ground and Air Safety Presentations and Seminars during Safety Stand-downs and ad hoc safety seminars.
