Beginning in 1969 I've been an Army Pilot and flew the T-41, T-42 (B-55 Baron) O-1 Bird Dog, and OV-1 Mohawk, Twin-Engine Turboprop). I'm a Flight Instructor (CFI, CFII, MEI and Ground), past Part 135 Chief Pilot, and FBO Manager.
For years, I was an Aviation Safety Counselor in the Charleston area working with Dick Hitt-FAA Safety Program Manager. I received the Aviation Safety Counselor of the Year Award in 2001. The program was later changed to the FAAST Team and in 2019 I received the 2019 SC FAAST Team Representative of the Year. In January 2020, I received the FAA's Wrights Brother's Master Pilot Award.
I currently fly a F33A Bonanza with a Garmin G3X Touch, GTN 750, GTX 345, G5, GMA 350c and GNS 430W and a GFC 500 Autopilot based in Myrtle Beach, SC (KMYR).
