Poplar Grove IMC and VMC Safety
Topic:
VFR: Flying Into Higher Terrain and IFR: Flying With a Headache - Is It Significant?
Date and Time:
Wednesday, May 21, 2025, starting at 19:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Larry Martin
Brief Description:

VFR:   A smooth ride in clear skies takes a downturn when the airplane isn’t going to clear the next ridge. You can see the problem and know you must do something, but what will it be? Perhaps more importantly, what’s the best way to execute that plan?

And:

IFR:  You can have a perfectly functioning airplane in perfectly flyable conditions and still have a potential problem with the pilot. How much worry is a headache that could be attributable to the recent head-banging turbulence—or could be the first signs of something more consequential?

Members watch 2 short videos scenarios  and discuss how they would respond to the given situations.  This is an open forum for free ideas and we all learn from shared experience!   All are welcome to join in.  With the combined IFR & VFR scenarios' this seminar should be 2 hours long and enhance everyone's education.
