Topic:
Mid-Air Collision Avoidance Information for Pilots Flying Thru the FAR Part 93 Air Space Around the Destin Executive Airport
Speaker(s):
Houston Myers, MSGT Paige Smith
Brief Description:
This is a video, power point presentation about what constitutes the FAR Part 93 Special Use Airspace around the Destin Executive Airport, and around the Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field and Crestview Airports. Presenters will explain how to operate in this very active airspace, what type aircraft fly there, how ATC will handle your flight, where the hotspots are located and any changes in the airspace and operations from the past year.
Also to be presented are HATR reports (Hazardous Air Traffic Reports) from the past year submitted by aircrews, pilots, ATC and other military flyers. Further discussion will concern NMAC (Near Mid Air Collisions) from past year reports. It's your chance to learn about military flying and flight safety in this great area where we are as Destin pilots, flying with F-35s, F-15s, F-16s, T-38s, AC-130s, Osprey, C146s and the airliners landing at Eglin AFB every day.
