Brief Description:
Stabilized Approaches using Guided Visuals
Un-stabilized approaches are a leading cause of landing accidents. When aircraft deviate from stable speed, configuration, or path, the risk of hard landings, runway excursions, and loss of control rises sharply. FOQA data confirms that instability is most common at challenging runways, but also shows that when RNAV or FMS guidance is used, these events are nearly eliminated. Consistent, guided approaches lower workload, improve predictability, and help prevent accidents before they occur. This webinar will be led by Chris Baur, Bob Abbott and Sabrina Maiklejohn.
Guided Visual Approach Overview
Garmin and Hughes partnered to create Guided Visual Approach is an advanced procedure that blends the simplicity of a visual approach with the added situational awareness of modern avionics. It’s designed to enhance safety, efficiency, and pilot workload management during arrival.
