Brief Description:
In our modern era, flight planning has become easy. Most of us are flying aircraft with a GPS, we have some version of an Electronic Flight Bag (like Foreflight), and we have carefully and accurately planned our flight beforehand with electronic assistance. The days of paper charts and mechanical E6B’s have ended.
What happens when we lose our data in flight? It is more and more common to see disruptions in GPS service. Our iPad’s often run low on battery or overheat and we probably do not have a paper chart with us. What started as increased situational awareness has turned into near-zero situational awareness.
Join us for a class on Basic Cross Country Flight Planning. We will have a very small number of E6B’s, charts, and plotters available for use, so it would be best if you could bring as much as your own equipment as possible. Don’t have any of these items? Please join us anyways, and we will do our best to share!
