Title:
Tailwheel Basics

Tailwheel Takeoff and Landings
Date and Time:
Saturday, August 1, 2026, starting at 10:00 Mountain Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Tim Brill
Brief Description:

Tailwheel aircraft (taildraggers) require distinct takeoff and landing techniques because their main gear sits ahead of the center of gravity. Success relies heavily on active rudder control to counteract propeller torque, strict crosswind management to avoid ground loops, and managing stick position to control the tail.
