Brief Description:

This forum is dedicated to discussing best instructional practices for teaching stabilized approaches and go-arounds. We will review the General Aviation Joint Safety Committee (GAJSC) study on loss-of-control accidents and its related safety enhancement recommendations, with a focus on accidents occurring during the approach and go around phase of flight.

The session will examine the benefits of stabilized approaches, the importance of timely go-around decisions when approaches become unstable, and effective methods for teaching these critical skills. Practical instructional strategies, tips, and techniques to improve training effectiveness and pilot performance will also be presented.
