This one-hour event provides a comprehensive review of summer aviation safety guidelines and accident prevention

Event Highlights:

  • GA Accident Factors: Analysis of why flying into adverse weather is a primary factor in fatal general aviation accidents.
  • Thunderstorm Procedures: Critical actions for pilots caught in thunderstorms, including maintaining instrument focus and adhering to turbulence penetration speeds.
  • Weather Identification: Overview of the four primary thunderstorm types: single cell, cluster, squall line, and supercell.
  • Density Altitude Impacts: Understanding how decreased air density affects aircraft performance during high summer temperatures.
  • Other topics relating to flying safely

MIke Dewey is a local pilot who has flown for 15 years. He has a private and commercial certificate and an instrument rating.

Randy Williams is a CFI/CFII and is a Designated PIlot Examiner. He has over 3000 hours and over 1400 hours right seat time as an instructor.

Both serve on the FAA Safety Team.
