Brief Description:

FAR 91.119  has been misinterpreted by many pilots and has led to more than one enforcement action including one recently on the Connecticut River which has spurred quite a bit of dialogue in the seaplane community.

Join Michigan based aviation attorney Clifford Maine as he leads us through the language of FAR 91.119,. A pilot since 17, Cliff recently retired as chair of Barnes & Thornburg's Aviation Group, serving as general counsel to numerous aviation organizations. His presentation will examine the specific language in the regulation and its meaning as interpreted by enforcement actions and court rulings. Additionally, accident avoidance and an analysis of risk factors are all part of this 24th annual Maine Seaplane Safety Seminar.
