"IMC/VMC Club - Flight Safety for Pilots"
Tuesday, April 22, 2025 19:00 Central Daylight Time

Located at:
Cottonwood Airport (1C8)
5105 Auburn Street
EAA Chapter 22 Hangar
Rockford, IL 61101

Description:

The EAA IMC/VMC Club provides a "hangar flying" experience organized around instrument and/or visual flight, to promote safety, education, and proficiency.

Members discuss short videos and how they would respond to the given scenario.  This is an open forum for free ideas, and we all learn from shared experience!  Both VFR and IFR topics are covered, to expand our safe flying envelopes as the weather improves.  All are welcome to join in.

The scenario(s) we will discuss at this meeting is “Aluminum Ridge”.   Although mountain waves can create hazardous conditions, including turbulence, safe navigation is possible with thorough awareness, planning, and proper flight maneuvers.  We will watch short videos and discuss approaches to mountain waves and understanding of them through formation, turbulence, factors, and visual cues.
