Title:
The WINGS Program
Topic:
WINGS - The Pilot Proficiency Program
Date and Time:
Wednesday, September 25, 2019, starting at 19:00 Arizona Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Brian Roggow - CFI / CFII / MEI / FAASTeam Lead Rep.
Brief Description:

The objective of the WINGS—Pilot Proficiency Program is to reduce the number of accidents in General Aviation (GA) by assisting airmen to find educational opportunities designed to help them apply the principles of risk assessment and risk management (RM). When properly applied, these principles will help mitigate accident causal factors associated with common pilot errors, lack of proficiency, and faulty knowledge. The Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) purpose is to encourage the majority of GA pilots, through WINGS, to engage in ongoing, targeted flying tasks and learning activities keyed to identified risks and which are designed to mitigate those risks.

Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

This seminar will present the details of the WINGS program and how pilots can participate. The benefits of participating will be highlighted and attendees will gain an understanding of how to use faasafety.gov to facilitate participation as well as to access a plethora of resources. The presentation will also show CFIs how to provide and validate activity credits.

Pilot airspace deviations continue to be a major risk in the national airspace system. To reduce the chance that you might be involved in an airspace deviation incident, you are highly encouraged to take an on-line learning center course on http://www.faasafety.gov/. Or search the learning library for associated guidance on airspace incursions. Remember, safe and prudent airmen have superior situational awareness and have a plan to keep it that way.

Thanks! A message from your local FAASTeam.
