Thomas Daniel is a CFII at San Carlos Flight Center and he flies a Cirrus SR22. Since getting his pilot licenses he keeps expanding his cross-country flights, including flights from the Bay Area to Alaska, to Bahamas, many years of fights to Mexico and his longest cross-country to Colombia and Ecuador.
In June 2017, Thomas obtained South African PPL and together with his wife Anna, they flew over South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia in a Cessna 182. He will talk about this epic trip, about flying in different countries, dealing with regulations, lack of infrastructure, border crossings, flight planning, incredible sights of Nambia deserts, close encounters with lions, tigers, elephants, rhinoceros and many others in in South African Kruger National Park, permanent rainbow over Victoria Falls and go-arounds due to giraffe on the runway in Botswana.
