If you base out of Bessemer or fly out of Bessemer often, you are encouraged to attend due to ongoing issues with traffic conflicts with arrivals and departures from Birmingham (BHM). A little knowledge, common sense and common courtesy goes a long way making the NAS (National Airspace System) safer and more efficient. Just because you are clear of the class C airspace does not mean that you are clear of traffic. Air carriers and aircraft operating with TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) are required to respond to alerts which can cause disruptions to traffic flow.
BHM air traffic controllers will discuss problematic areas around Birmingham and answers any questions you may have. Come meet the voices in your radio.
Special thanks to Bessemer Airport for hosting this Aviation Safety Seminar.
