Saturday, July 13, 2024, starting at 10:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File

Brief Description:

The event is a presentation about the Minneapolis M98 TRACON to learn about interacting with the Minneapolis air traffic controllers, their systems, and navigating in and around the Minneapolis Class B airspace. We will then tour the TRACON to see the radar screens and see how the MSP sectors are distributed. You’ll be able to ask questions to the host throughout the event about how hand-offs work, why sometimes you need to change frequencies and sometimes you don’t, understand how to best practice approaches, when to get VFR flight following or file, how to avoid getting a phone number, who is it you talk to when you call the number in the Chart Supplement to get a clearance, when can you shoot the RNAV 32 into KMIC and so much more. If time permits, we can head up to MSP Tower.  **US CITIZENS ONLY** **No phones or cameras allowed** **Stairs are required for the tour; the tower is not ADA accessible**

At stop sign turn left (don't worry about the do not enter authorized personnel only sign) follow the road around toward the tower. At next stop sign there will be a parking lot in front of you.
