Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

Several years ago the FAA made the process of installing an angle of attack indicator for general aviation pilots much easier.  Before this change in the regulations it required an STC to add an AOA to your aircraft.  Now it only needs a sign off by an A&P mechanic.  This presentation covers the aerodynamics of AOA and how to avoid the stall/spin scenario.  However, even more significantly, it covers the role that inclination and coordinated turns play in the stall/spins. You may be surprised to learn that improper rudder input and skidding turns is the primary culprit.  Several AOA systems currently on the market will be covered, as well as some new technology.
