For our Sept EAA Chapter 92 meeting, join us for an explanation of the rules governing the kinds of maintenance owners of aircraft are permitted to do on their aircraft, and what sign-offs are needed for maintenance items, annual inspections, and annual (E-AB) condition inspections. The rules differ for standard certificated production aircraft and E-AB aircraft, and the inspection and sign-off requirements for E-AB vary depending on whether you are the builder or a second owner..

About our Speaker:

Ben Kellogg, owner of Ben’s Motorworks at Fullerton Airport, has been an AP for 20 years, and an IA for 17. Ben’s Motorworks has been operating since 2009 and has worked on just about every type of certified single engine GA airplane.

Ben's Motorworks has 2 hangars and 5 full time employees, and works on helicopters (Robinson Certified); specializes in Cessna, Beechcraft and Piper, but also works on Mooney, Grumman and Cirrus along with all other manufactures, including Experimental E-AB aircraft. They are Rotax Certified.

They offer diverse services including annual inspections, general maintenance, electrical, control system and landing gear system rigging.  They enjoy restoring aircraft and taking planes that have been idle for extended periods and bringing them back to life.  They are currently in the process of doing a complete restoration on a 1955 Cessna 170B.
