Over the past two years Western’s Geography, and Master of Environmental Management programs have begun to develop several UAS-focused classes and research projects. A new GIS Certificate program includes a UAV Image Acquisition course taught in an innovative format. Western geography professor and CCUAS member Phil Crossley will present some key moments in the evolution of these new elements of Western’s offerings, the specific UAS models the program has acquired, the approach to instruction adopted, and some of the unexpected opportunities that have arisen as a result of taking the plunge into the UAS world.
Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) are becoming more commonplace in all areas of the country.
The regular meeting of CC UAS is intended to bring sUAS owners, operators and interested parties together discuss many aspects of UAS. Our typical agenda includes the following:
- Recent News and Developments in the industry
- Legal and Legislative activities pertinent to UAS operations
- A safety topic
- An educational topic
- Networking and socialization
We welcome all in the central Colorado region to attend this meeting.
