Additional Event Information & Acknowledgement of Industry Sponsor(s):

Join us for an FAA WINGS Safety Seminar focused on flying confidently and legally in and around complex airspace. We'll review entry requirements, communication procedures, and equipment rules for Class C and Class D airspace, then cover how to find, interpret, and avoid Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) before and during flight. The session also covers local Military Operations Areas (MOAs) and Military Training Routes (MTRs), including how to read them on sectional charts, check their status, and reduce the risk of encountering high-speed military traffic.

Our speaker is Kevin Heiss, a retired U.S. Navy pilot and former airline pilot. He is the owner and operator of Heisses Wasser Aerosports, which provides contract pilot services and advanced flight instruction in airplanes and helicopters. He provides test pilot services to Reach Aviation for the type certification of the AC-6T, serves as a Part 135 check pilot for charter operations at Backcountry Flying Experience, and serves as a Part 141 check instructor for the Kodiak at Parkwater Aviation. He also supports Coeur d'Alene Seaplanes, the business he formerly owned, which provides seaplane and helicopter ratings.
