VMC Presentation Mistaken Identity IMC Presentation Trace Icing
Date and Time:

Speaker(s):
Timothy Meyer, Howard Kaney
Brief Description:

VMC Question of the Month: Weight and balance calculations for light general aviation aircraft can be critical for ensuring flight safety. Aircraft-specific software applications available on the market today can make performing weight and balance calculations much easier and less prone to mistakes. Before using such a software application, what action must the pilot take?

IMC Question of the Month: Autopilot systems in general aviation aircraft can be a tremendous asset for managing the in-flight workload. However, they do require additional knowledge for safe operations. Besides the basic system operating procedures, what three items might be considered most important knowledge items regarding autopilot system operations?

These Discussions will be led by Timothy Meyer and Howard Kaney, FAA Safety Representatives.

We will discuss the answers to the two questions of the month as well as the VMC and IMC video scenarios and discuss what we would do if we wound ourselves in the same situations ro more importantly, what we would do to prevent ourselves from getting in to those situations in the first place.

The EAA VMC Club provides a "hangar flying" experience organized around visual flight, in order to promote safety, education, and proficiency. Every meeting consists of a scenario presentation and group discussion about unusual or interesting charts, changed rules and procedures, and member experiences. We also have occasional guest speakers.

Join in the discussion. Give us your opinion. You may be surprised at how many ideas the group will have and have some fun, learning at the same time! Please join us and tell us “What would you do?”. Bring your EFB, your experience, and your questions, and be ready to participate. All are welcome. You do not need to be an EAA member to attend.

Sponsored by EAA Chapter 1158, but you do not have to be a member or a pilot to attend.

See you at Breakfast
