Brief Description:
Join the FAA Safety Team, Texoma Aero Club, and TruFlight Academy for a special afternoon of aviation, education, and community at North Texas Regional Airport (KGYI)!
This free event brings fixed-wing and helicopter pilots together to learn more about helicopter operations and how to safely share the airport environment. Fly in or drive in and enjoy three activities:
Cookout: Hamburgers and hot dogs with fellow pilots, students, and aviation enthusiasts.
Helicopter Demo: TruFlight Academy will fly in a training helicopter for a live flight demonstration and up-close look at helicopter operations.
Safety Presentation: Learn how helicopters fly, traffic patterns and low-altitude operations, collision avoidance, sharing airspace with helicopters, and how fixed-wing pilots can get started with helicopter training.

Directions to Venue:
The event will be approximately 2 hours with a 1-hour safety presentation.
If flying in, taxi to the executive hangars adjacent to the Alpha taxiway north of the tower. There is a Texoma Aero Club sign on the hangar. If you are driving in, you can go to the Rise Aviation FBO to be let through the gate and proceed to the executive hangars. If you have a gate code, enter on Don Ort Drive, then turn right to access the executive hangars.
