Title:
Monthly Safety Meeting
Topic:
9/11 A view from the Cockpit
Speaker(s):
H.-P. Schuele
Brief Description:
September 11, 2001, is a date forever etched into the global consciousness. For some, it remains a vivid and deeply personal memory; for others, it is history learned in a classroom. But for the pilots flying commercial airliners that morning, there was no standard checklist, no manual, and no precedent for the crisis unfolding in the skies.
H.-P. Schuele, First Officer on UA1092 was in the cockpit that day. He has prepared a briefing illustrating the intense real-time decisions, cockpit vulnerabilities, and rapid adaptations made by flight crews as the tragedy unfolded.
WINGS credit will be awarded to attendees.
