Title:
TOM Stabilized Approaches
Topic:
Making and Acting on Timely Go-around Decisions.
Date and Time:
Saturday, August 15, 2026, starting at 11:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Daniel Ahern, FAASTeam Rep.
Brief Description:

A GAJSC study found that the second largest group of fatal loss of control accidents occurred during the approach phase of flight.  Many of these accidents resulted form an un-stabilized approach or a failure to go-around.  Thus, stabilized approaches are the foundation for successful landings. This interactive seminar will cover stabilized approach criteria, recognition when an approach becomes unstable and a review of go-around procedures for VFR and missed approach procedures for IFR operations.
