Title:
Sharing the Skies Safely -- Powered and Non-powered Flight
Topic:
Sharing the Sky Safely with Sailplanes: See-and-Avoid Techniques
Speaker(s):
Mr. Robert Youngblood
Brief Description:
Many who fly believe that gliders (sailplanes) only fly in the vicinity of gliderports. In reality, these planes cover hundreds, if not thousands of miles as they negotiate the skies. Recently, there have been incidents where powered aircraft and gliders and towplanes have come within feet of each other. This seminar will address sailplane awareness for powered aircraft pilots and techniques to see and avoid.
