Title:
BFC Instrument Seminar
Topic:
Understanding Instrument Approaches
Speaker(s):
Adam Kellum, Brendan Conner, Ben Curlee
Brief Description:
Not all instrument approaches are created equal. From precision approaches to modern satellite-based procedures, each type has its own capabilities, limitations, and operational considerations. “Understanding Instrument Approaches” explores the various approaches available to today's IFR pilot and how they fit into real-world flying.
This seminar will examine the differences between precision, nonprecision, and approach procedures with vertical guidance, while discussing when and why pilots might encounter each one. We will also look at equipment requirements, operational advantages, and common misconceptions that can lead to confusion in training and flight operations.
Whether you're working on your instrument rating or looking to sharpen your IFR knowledge, this session will help you better understand the tools available to get you safely from the enroute environment to the runway.
