Title:
Monthly Safety Meeting
Topic:
Into Thin Air
Date and Time:
Wednesday, June 10, 2026, starting at 12:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Glenn Beavers
Brief Description:

While pilots diligently monitor the ATIS for surface winds and altimeter settings, the mention of Density Altitude (DA) is frequently overlooked. Although often associated with mountain flying, high DA is a critical factor during "hot and heavy" summer operations at any elevation.

To mitigate the risks of operating in "thin air", Master Pilot Glenn Beavers has prepared a presentation to avoid the pitfalls of high-density altitude performance.

WINGS credit will be awarded to attendees.
