Title:
BFC Safety Seminar
Topic:
Emergency Preparedness for Pilots
Date and Time:
Thursday, May 14, 2026, starting at 18:00 Central Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Adam Kellum, Brendan Conner, Ben Curlee
Brief Description:

Emergencies rarely happen on your schedule, and they usually aren't near a runway. “Emergency Preparedness for Pilots” focuses on the knowledge, planning, and equipment that can help pilots and passengers survive when a flight takes an unexpected turn.

We will cover practical considerations for off-airport landings, survival mindset, and the emergency equipment pilots should consider carrying before venturing beyond gliding distance of an airport. We will discuss preparation strategies, decision-making under stress, and how small choices made before takeoff can have a major impact afterward.

The best time to prepare for an emergency is before you ever need it. In this two hour event you will learn how to stack the odds in your favor long before things go wrong.
