Title:
Effective Communication in Passenger Briefings
Topic:
Passengers On Board: Mastering Safety, Communication, and Decision-Making in GA Flying
Date and Time:
Wednesday, April 29, 2026, starting at 17:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Bryce Hattrup, CFI
Brief Description:

Flying with family and friends introduces a unique set of challenges that can quietly influence even the most disciplined pilots. This seminar explores how the presence of passengers affects flight risk, from subtle social pressures to increased cockpit distractions.

We will learn how to provide clear, effective passenger briefings that enhance safety of flight, reduce anxiety, and set realistic expectations before the engine ever starts and the wheels leave the ground.

Pilots will gain tools to maintain personal minimums, make confident go/no-go decisions, and communicate delays or cancellations with authority and professionalism without inducing anxiety. Whether you're flying with first-timers or frequent passengers, this seminar will help you stay in command of both the aircraft and situation.
