Topic:
Howgozit and Howzitlook: How does the flight look?
Date and Time:
Tuesday, March 31, 2026, starting at 19:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Gary Baker
Brief Description:

Our program will be a discussion about Howgozit and Howzitlook. We will talk about various techniques we can use to check the safe progress of our flight, from preflighting to the tiedown. Do you compare your actual fuel burn to the flight-planned fuel burn while enroute on a cross-country? Do you make a note of the estimated flight time during the preflight and then compare it throughout the flight? Should you be concerned with any of these during a local flight? Various aspects of ForeFlight will be covered, as well as the FAA General Aviation Joint Safety Committee topic of the month.

EAA VMC Clubs are extensions to local EAA chapters and offer monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experience. The meetings use real-world scenarios to engage members, and allow a free exchange of information that improves awareness and skills. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency. Through the EAA VMC Club programs, visual flight rule pilots have improved their proficiency.
