Title:
Monthly Safety Meeting
Topic:
Automation Dependency, Management, and Surprises
Brief Description:
Most airplanes now carry some sort of electronic device to aid pilots in navigating the skies and to steer them to their destination. Over the years, airspace was restructured to take advantage of these new navigational capabilities. Dependency on these systems is increasing but they need to be properly managed or the result will be an automation surprise. Avery Cates, CFII at AEROSPACE N3XT, has prepared a presentation to address some the challenges of managing the systems.
