Brief Description:

This is an in-person presentation on lithium battery fires in flight. Lithium batteries power nearly every device on today’s aircraft, from passenger PEDs and crew EFBs to medical and emergency equipment. Their high energy density, however, creates a unique fire risk through thermal runaways. This course prepares aircrew to prevent, recognize, and respond to lithium battery incidents in flight.
