Winter Flight Operations
Topic:
Tips to Help You Stay Safe During Winter Flight Operations
Speaker(s):
Leading Edge Aviation Flight Instructors
Brief Description:
Winter season flying presents a unique set of challenges for General Aviation pilots. Poor weather conditions with fast moving fronts, strong and gusty winds, blowing and drifting snow, and icing conditions are just part of the conditions that require careful planning to minimize their effects. Operation in this environment requires special winter operating procedures. Special considerations for aircraft storage, preparation and operation are required to minimize risks associated with the additional stresses placed on aircraft and systems in cold climates. Preparation beyond that required for fair weather flying should also include survival planning, equipment and techniques. This seminar will cover a range of winter specific topics techniques.
