Stop Guessing: De-mystifying IFR Procedures Step-by-Step
Date and Time:
Monday, October 27, 2025, starting at 18:00 Eastern Daylight Time Download Calendar File
Speaker(s):
Ajay Raghavendra, Alex Evans, and Nick Passino
Brief Description:

This seminar offers an in-depth, phase-by-phase exploration of an IFR cross-country flight, designed to clarify complex procedures, and enhance pilot proficiency. We’ll deconstruct the IFR process, moving beyond rote memorization to truly understand the underlying logic and risk mitigation strategies. The seminar will heavily utilize scenario-based training to tackle realistic situations encountered in the IFR environment. A major focus will be placed on departure procedures, clarifying the differences and proper execution of SIDs, ODPs, and Radar Vector departures. We'll discuss when and how to anticipate and execute these clearances safely. Moving beyond the en-route phase, we'll thoroughly cover arrival procedures, specifically analyzing STARs and their role in transitioning from the airway structure to the approach environment. Emergency procedures that may arise during any phase of flight will also be discussed.
