Brief Description:

A panel of CFIs with clinical expertise will discuss the FAA’s Aviation Rulemaking Committee’s (ARC) report on Mental Health and Aviation Medical Clearances and highlight its recommendations.

An aviation medical examiner will review contributions by the AME community to aviation safety and accident prevention.

The panel will explain how a Safety Management System approach can mitigate mental illness-related causes of aviation accidents, and a neuropsychologist will emphasize what CFIs need to learn and know about mental illness.
