Brief Description:
We will describe how a major airline structures aircrew training to produce qualified aircrew and a culture of safety. This includes training with heavy emphasis on Crew Resource Management(CRM) for efficiency and enhanced safety. We’ll delve into the airline’s emphasis on use of Automation and the potential errors that accompany that heavy reliance. United Airlines has incorporated Threat and Error Management( TEM) into every aspect of training to mitigate risk in Automation and how CRM plays into that. We’ll cover the training leading up to a Line Check.
We will review the planning, equipment requirements, and emergency procedures for general aviation operations over water.
We will briefly review the sources for pre-flight weather briefing but will emphasize in-flight weather sources and cautions on their use.
Pizza will be available after 6PM for those attendees who arrive early.
