Title:
Spins Do Not Have to Be Deadly - Loss of Control is the Leading Causal Factor of Aviation Accidents
Topic:
Stall / Spin Awareness and Recovery
Speaker(s):
Robert Haynes, CFI, Spin Training and Endorsement
Brief Description:
Stalls and spins are often feared. Sometimes they are deadly. These both can be demystified and even embraced. SPART is a topic specific seminar that focuses on Stall/Spin Prevention, Awareness and Recovery Training. Concepts like turning tendencies, stall recovery procedures, spin phases/principle/recovery techniques and more are discussed. With a heavy emphasis on angle of attack (AOA), pilots will have a clear understanding how AOA plays into stall and spins. Taught by veteran CFI Robert Haynes who is passionate about teaching spins and has done over 3500 spins and certified hundreds of CFI candidates. In fact, Robert recently set the world record for most number of individual spins in one flight. He did 100 individual spins (not just turns). Come and enjoy SPART. You won’t be disappointed.

This will be an open forum discussion where Robert Haynes will talk about the aerodynamics of flight vs stalled flight. Robert will explain how a pilot can mistakenly enter a spin, identify the spin and recover the aircraft. He will explain how the turning tendencies act on the airplane in a stall and a spin along with the importance of angle-of-attack. Robert will explain and demonstrate, with a model, the sequence of control inputs for proper spin recovery. In addition, Robert has some very interesting self made videos of him demonstrating stall spin entry and recovery.
Thank you to the Peru Airport for hosting this event and to Stick And Rudder Aviation for presenting.
