Brief Description:
The EAA IMC Club provides a "hangar flying" experience organized around instrument flight, in order to promote safety, education, and proficiency.
Every meeting consists of a scenario presentation and group discussion about unusual or interesting charts, changed rules and procedures, and member experiences. We also have occasional guest speakers.
The scenario we will discuss at this meeting is: A pilot with a possible fire onboard has to make a choice of what to do out of a host of less than optimal choices.
Bring your EFB, your experience, and your questions, and be ready to participate.
All are welcome. You do not need to be an EAA member or instrument rated pilot to
attend.

The purpose of the IMC Club is to promote instrument flying, proficiency and safety. Along with IFR flying, we have monthly chapter meetings where pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences to promote safety and build proficiency within the IFR system.
Our moderators have a wide and varied level of experience in aviation. Jim is a retired UPS pilot and flew the B727, B747, and the MD11. He has flown for the regionals, Part 135, and corporate. He was a line pilot as well as an instructor at each airline and has logged over 25,000 hours. Randy is a retired Air Traffic Controller with 27 years as a radar approach controller and instructor as well as being an instrument rated private pilot. He grew up in aviation and is the founding president of the Kentucky Pilots Association and was its head for the first seven years. Together they cover a wide swath of aviation and strive to direct the meetings towards everyone sharing their own experiences.
Bring your thoughts or stories and be willing to share them with the group. This meeting is very interactive. Participation by the group is a key element to the IMC Club meeting.
