Vicariously live a day in the life of a working Alaska Bush Pilot, including tales of heartbreak and triumph. George will discuss risks, skills, knowledge and safety concerns to navigate as a bush pilot in Alaska.
With over 8,000 VFR flying hours in the Alaska Bush, mostly under 1,000’ AGL, George Campbell has a wide range of experience including flying Mail all four seasons using floats, wheels and skis between delivering hunters, fishermen, visitors, and locals to intended destinations. In the mid 1990’s he created and operated a single pilot 135 air carrier service specializing in bear watching and fly fishing. He has since worked in many parts of Alaska for lodges and air taxi services, flying many types of aircraft from Cubs to Beavers, and has served as a company instructor for two different air taxis flying multiple types of aircraft.
