Brief Description:

Brandon will present an in-depth look at Navy rotary wing aviation, covering the journey from initial training to operational deployments in the Fleet. He will highlight key milestones, challenges, and the skills required to succeed as a Naval Aviator. Brandon will highlight the preflight planning, skills, safety concerns, and post flight briefings that are required for a naval aviator.  Along the way, he’ll share a few sea stories that bring the experience to life.

Brandon Montanye, a native of Clarks Grove, graduated from Albert Lea Senior High School in 1993 and earned a Bachelor of Science in History from Iowa State University in 1997. He was commissioned through Officer Candidate School (OCS) in Pensacola, Florida, in 1998 and began his military career as a Surface Warfare Officer, serving aboard USS Frederick (LST-1184) in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and later as Operations Officer aboard USS Robin (MHC-54) in Ingleside, Texas.

Airport is located southeast of the City of Buffalo off of Highway 55.  Turn north on County Road 134 (at the Kwik Trip) and the airport will be on your right just past Menards.  It is easy to find using GPS/map apps.
