Brief Description:

This two hour event is a two part seminar, provided by the FAA Safety Team (FAASTeam) from the Albany Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). The seminar will cover information of interest to all pilots and student pilots. The topic will be presented by our FAASTeam Representatives and Commercial Flight Instructors, Melodie Viele. 

The first first part of this seminar presents The Topic of The Month, "What is an Approval for Return to Service." Flight Instructor Melodie Viele, will lead this lecture with the help of local maintenance technician. They will discuss the maintenance record requirements and suggested pre flight procedures done by pilots prior to flying an aircraft after maintenance has been performed. 

The second part of this seminar will discuss Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) accidents. We will take a deep dive into the statistics behind these accidents, why they happen and how to best prevent them.

The Aviator Restaurant is located adjacent to the FBO at the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Glens Falls, NY (GFL). If you are flying in, enter through the FBO then walk outdoors to the adjacent restaurant building. If you are arriving by car, parking is available at the restaurant.
